Lynne is a National Board Certified Music Teacher. She is a composer and arranger of multiple styles of music. She is wife of a wonderfully supportive husband, and mother of four beautiful, artistic daughters. Her goal is to bring God's joy and love to the world through her original compositions and arrangements.
Lynne shares her love of music with students, inviting its positive message into their lives, and helping them gain reading, writing, singing, listening, and performing skills as they work together to achieve excellence and joy in their musical experiences.
Lynne began her German Music Studio in Harrisonburg, VA, where she taught private and group piano and flute lessons and composition to award-winning students. Her studio was frequented by music students from James Madison University and Eastern Memmonite University, who came to observe her and her students in their lessons, and to see Lynne's state-of-the-art Music Theory Learning Lab, which included multiple acoustic pianos, as well as multiple computers with piano keyboards connected.
Lynne taught Class Piano as an Adjunct Instructor at James Madison University. She started the Piano Teachers' Forum in Harrisonburg, VA, and earned the Hall of Fame Award in the National Piano Guild of Teachers, adjudicating for them in the Southeastern USA. She helped found the Harrisonburg Chapter of VMENC. She also taught music K-12 in the public school system. She currently is vocal instructor for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, teaching middle school and high school choral ensembles. She has earned the Bell Award (Norfolk Public Schools) and Career Teacher status (Virginia Beach City Public Schools).
Lynne is a pianist, singer, flutist, and conductor. She enjoys performing in and conducting various types of ensembles. She composes and arranges music for ensembles that she conducts or performs with, including Choral ensembles and flute ensembles.
Her "Flutes of the Spirit" is a set of flute hymn arrangements for flute duets, trios, and quartets, many of which she has played with her flute ensemble of the same name. This set of arrangements for flute can be found at:
Lynne's compositions inclue vocal and instrumental solos, various combinations of choral and instrumental ensembles, and symphonic works.
Church Music Director
Lynne serves as the Protestant Director of Music at the Naval Air Station Oceana, Chapel of the Good Shepherd, in Virginia Beach.
Lynne earned her MME at Old Dominion University, where she studied composition with composer Adolphus C. Hailstork.
